Why do people come to counselling?
People choose to come to counselling for a variety reasons. The experience of being listened to and being able to put into words what is bothering you, can in itself give you a sense of relief and be healing.
How many counselling sessions will I need?
You may only need a few sessions or you may need to look at issues in greater depth. Whatever happens the decision is always made with the therapist and you can decide to terminate therapy at any time.
How long is a session?
Each counselling session lasts for one hour.
What about confidentiality?
Confidentiallity is vital for counselling to suceed. This will be discussed in detail at your first session.
What if I miss a session or have to cancel?
If you have to cancel a session, please contact me as soon as possible, a minimum of 24 hours is required or you may be charged for a missed session.
What are your qualifications?
I hold a Batchellor of Arts (Honours) Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy.
Do you belong to any professional body?
I am currently a member of the The Association of Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists (APCP) www.apcp.ie and I abide by their code of ethics www.apcp/default/code-of-ethics.aspx
